Have you been scrolling social media more than ever this summer? (Guilty!) In addition the the usual flow of pics of family and friends and the sometimes overwhelming amount of posts about COVID-19 and politics these days, you might be looking for some new, uplifting accounts to follow. Luckily, there are plenty of local accounts to provide just that. Here are just a few suggestions to make you smile, laugh, or feel inspired.
Tip: We previously shared 6 Accounts to Follow, 6 More Social Accounts to Follow Today and most recently, 6 Social Accounts to Follow Right Now. Plus, if you’re not already, be sure to follow Bucks Happening on Facebook and Instagram!
This extra time at home might have you looking around your house wondering how you can improve things. Kelley Price Interiors, a 2020 Happening List Finalist for Interior Designer/Decorator, has a beautifully curated Instagram feed with tons of home design eye candy. You’ll find dramatic before-and-afters, picture perfect peeks into designer homes, and quick updates anyone can do to freshen their home’s look.
If you’re like many local families, you might have had to cancel your vacation plans for this summer. Or, all of this time stuck at home these past few months, might have you dreaming of packing your bags to get away from it all! Magical Mouse Travel, our 2020 Happening List Winner for Travel Agent, is a full-service travel agency that specializes in family vacations. (And as the name suggests, Disney World is a huge part of that!) Follow this Facebook account if you’re ready to start planning a trip, you’re curious about how places are handling reopening/safety restrictions,or you just need a glimpse of happy places.
Dana Lee Photography LLC is our 2020 Happening List Winner for Photography. Dana is based out of Feasterville, serving Bucks, Montco and Philadelphia. She specializes in newborn and family photography, so her feed is FULL of adorable kiddos and beautiful families. After being closed for 3 months, she’s back in business, and sharing plenty of sneak peeks at recent sessions. This is a great one to follow if you’re looking to book a photo session, you’re an aspiring photographer, or even if you’re looking for kids’ birthday theme ideas!
One of the best things to come out of quarantine? Kim Levins (former director of Urban Allure Salon & Spa and girlfriend of Jim Worthington, Owner of the NAC) started a new blog (and an accompanying Instagram page). Not limiting herself to any one topic in particular, you’ll find a little of all the things Kim loves. She’ll be talking about style, beauty, home decor, entertaining and fitness. We’re HERE for it all. We’re especially into the home tours she’s been giving of their 200+year old converted barn.
Lydia Michaels is a repeat favorite in the Bucks Happening List for Author, showing up as a Winner or Finalist the past several years in a row. In addition to being an author of over 35 novels, she’s also the host and founder of the East Coast Author Convention. Follow her on Instagram for her #PearlsOfFemaleWisdom, FREE book giveaways, writer tips, and snippets of her life. (We’re loving her escapes to the shore this summer!)
@BrilliantlyResilient (Facebook Public Group)
The duo behind this Public Facebook Group is Kristin Smedley (our 2020 Happening List Winner for Power Person) and Mary Fran Bontempo (our 2020 Happening List Winner for Author). Together, they’ve created a website, online show, podcast, and motivational programs/workshops – all focused on being Brilliantly Resilient. While they both have personal accounts worth following on their own (Kristin made our last list like this!), we’re loving their new inspirational Facebook Group. Join the group for behind-the-scenes looks at their podcast, live videos, inspiring quotes, and to celebrate and share personal wins with others.
