Does Jason Momoa Regret His ‘Baywatch’ Past?

He may be done with Star Wars, but Adam Driver isn’t done with sci-fi. The redeemed Ben Solo is reportedly set to star in a new, still-mysterious science fiction thriller that comes pre-loaded with an impressive production pedigree — Sam Raimi’s Raimi Productions.

Deadline reports that Driver will take point in the movie, titled 65, though plot and story details are, at least for now, thinner than the edge of a lightsaber. A Quiet Place screenwriters Scott Beck and Bryan Woods are reportedly set to write and direct the film; they’ll also co-produce for Sony Pictures alongside Raimi, Zainab Azizi, and Debbie Liebling.

Raimi’s genre background with Beck and Woods extends to their recent collaboration on Raimi’s 50 States of Fright at Quibi, for which the duo wrote and directed an episode. Driver, meanwhile is beginning to rack up post-Star Wars projects that pair him with some of the big screen’s best-known creators, adding his Raimi team-up for 65 to an already busy schedule that also includes Ridley Scott’s historical drama, The Last Duel, set to debut on Oct. 15 of next year, where he’ll star alongside Matt Damon and Jodie Comer.

Last month’s DC FanDome event was just the first salvo in a two-part digital showcase that gives the DC faithful a fan con all their own, amid a summer when the pandemic has shifted everything online. So it makes sense that The CW is priming the hype, ahead of FanDome’s September return, with a new sizzle reel that not only frames its new post-Arrow hero pantheon, but also gives us a new look at Tyler Hoechlin as Superman and Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane.

Check it out:

From The Flash to Black Lightning to Batwoman to Supergirl and more, the clip manages to bring together the network’s superhero slate with some truly tongue-in-cheek callouts — including a pair of not-so-subtle references to both Marvel’s MCU and Amazon’s The Boys. But it’s probably no surprise that Superman & Lois — set to debut in January in hour-long installments — ends up being the real star of this show.

The CW’s Greg Berlanti-produced constellation of superhero shows definitely looks like it’s found its swagger, touting a small-screen universe that has big plans ahead — both on regular TV and on the network’s streaming app. But there’s still plenty we don’t know about The CW’s present-day return to Smallville — a knowledge gap we’re sure DC is set to fill in when DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse goes live on Saturday, Sept. 12.

With summer rounding the corner toward its last days, who says it’s not early enough to start scheming for the spooky season? Freeform isn’t leaving fans guessing this year about what its plans are for the network’s annual 31 Nights of Halloween marathon, releasing an insanely jam-packed schedule for this year’s lineup of horror movie hits.

It’s a long, long list that mostly keeps things on the family-friendly side of the scary spectrum, in keeping with Freeform’s Disney parentage. Grave thrills are definitely represented here, from the Scream series to Sleepy Hollow, but there’s plenty of horror humor to be found in classics like Ghostbusters, Beetlejuice, Addams Family Values, Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride, and tons more.

The idea, of course, is to leave not a single day of October untouched by a binge-able slate of fright films in the month-long march toward Halloween. It all begins on Oct. 1, and you can check out Freeform’s full 31 Nights of Halloween lineup here.
