The story is set after the events of ‘After’ in which Tessa Young struggles in her romantic relationship with Hardin Scott. They end up splitting apart and the story follows Tessa Young getting involved with her co-worker named Trevor.
‘After’ was released in April of 2019. In May of 2019, the sequel to the romantic drama film was announced. Roger Kumble was finalized as the director of the sequel. The cast members were expected to reprise their roles in the sequel. Josephine Langford returned to reprise her character of Tessa Young and so did Hero Fiennes Tiffin as Hardin Scott.
It also stars Dylan Sprouse, Shane Paul McGhie, Candice King, Khadijha Red Thunder, Inanna Sarkis, Samuel Larsen, and Selma Blair in supporting roles.
Charlie Weber, Rob Estes, Louise Lombard, Candice King, Karimah Westbrook, and Max Ragone joined the team of After We Collided to play the characters of Christian Vance, Ken Scott, Trish, Kim, Karen, and Smith, respectively. Peter Gallagher was replaced by Estes for the character of Ken Scott. Jennifer Beals was also replaced by Westbrook for the character of Karen Scott.
The shooting for After We Collided began in August of 2019.
After we collided has already been released in several countries and its theatrical release is still pending for some. On September 2nd, 2020 the sequel to the romantic drama film was released in Italy, Ireland, Portugal, and the United Kingdom. The film hit theatres on 3rd September 2020 in Austria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, and Ukraine. On September 9th, 2020, the film was released in Sweden. It also hit the screens in the countries Australia, Denmark, the Middle East, and New Zealand on September 10th. On 11th September 2020, it was released in Canada, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, and Romania.
In the very first week of release, the film was able to bag 10 million USD through its release in 16 countries. The earning increased by folds through its release in countries like the United Kingdom in both theatres and on-demand.
It is also scheduled for an upcoming release in the United States on October 23rd, 2020. ‘After’ was based on an adult fiction novel of the same name by Anna Todd. ‘After’ explores Tessa’s life as she moves into the freshman year of college where she meets Hardin. The story follows the encounters of both as they fall for each other.
After we collided explores the complicated relationship between Tessa and Hardin which eventually falls apart. To the delight of the fans of these movies, the makers have announced two back-to-back sequels to ‘After we collided’ namely, ‘After We Fell’ and ‘After Ever Happy’. Castille Landon will be directing both of the upcoming sequels. Both the sequels are in the pre-production stage at the moment.
