In a super-sized Sunday morning episode, Mike and Dan recap the Islanders’ complete game shutout of the Philadelphia Flyers in Game 7 and look ahead to the Eastern Conference Final against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
They look at the two heartbreaking OT losses that preceded that final game and how they snuffed out the Flyers behind somewhat surprise starter Thomas Greiss. They also talk about the distinct recent eras and changes in players and philosophies that have helped them get to their first conference final in 27 years. Later, they examine what the Islanders will have to face in the likable, talented Lightning, and why they’ll be the heavy underdogs once again.
