The author of the internationally bestselling Crazy Rich Asians trilogy, Kevin Kwan, has written a new book. Titled ‘Sex and Vanity’, the book is inspired by ‘A Room With a View’ and is written in homage to E.M. Forster’s classic.
Like his last series, this one is also to be a trilogy, with each book set in an iconic city- New York, London, and Paris. The first book is set in Capri and New York. We follow a young woman torn between the life expected of her from her father’s family and George Zao, a man she is trying hard not to fall in love with. It’s a comedy and a modern romance set between two cultures.
Kevin Kwan has done well in many fields but is best known in the literary world for his Crazy Rich Asians series. The series follows several fictional characters from the elite families of Singapore. The first book was even adapted into a movie last year that did exceptionally well, It was the highest-grossing romantic comedy in a decade and it won several awards.
While there will no doubt be several things in common in both the series, the author very clearly told Entertainment Weekly, “This is not Crazy Rich Asians part four. This is a whole different beast.”
