The State higher and technical education department reported that a college will be constructed in Aurangabad that will be solely focusing on saint literature and Hindu teachings. Higher Education Minister Uday Samant made this statement on the occasion of Ashadi Ekadashi.
The college will be offering graduate and postgraduate degree courses for students. This college will be set up in Paithan and will be affiliated to Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University.
The mode of admission and its syllabus is yet to be decided. Samant mentioned that the state is planning to start the academic year this year. He said that further decisions will be made in a few days.
The place Paithan reputed for many spiritual leaders of all faiths. These include Changdev Maharaj, Saint Dnyaneshwar, Saint Sopandev, Saint Nivruttinath, Saint Muktabai, Saint Eknath, Saint Jaganade Maharaj, Saint Bhanudas, Gaga Bhatta, etc.
The Minister reported that currently, the college has 50 classrooms, a library, and a dormitory for 100 students.
