Reddick Library and Prairie Fox Books are hosting over 20 authors at Washington Square Park at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17.
Authors will be signing their books there, including New York Times bestselling authors Kate Hannigan, who authors the “League of Secret Heroes” and “Cupcake Cousins” series, and Liesl Shurtliff, who wrote “RUMP: The True Story of Rumpelstiltskin.”
Dan Churney, Carole Ledbetter, Dan Klefstad and many other local authors will also be in attendance.
“Everyone will be spaced out appropriately with all guidelines in place, signing books, talking with anyone who wants to chat,” said Dylan Conmy of Prairie Fox Books.
Conmy said Prairie Fox normally hosts authors like this, but this is the first time they’ve done the “fest” format.
Prairie Fox will have a store set up in the park where those in attendance can purchase books, and authors will also have extra things like mugs for sale.
Dig Doug’s BBQ and Tropical Sno will also be there selling food, and the Ottawa Downtown Merchants will be holding sidewalk sales.
“With COVID, we wanted to do what we were doing inside but safer, so we’re having this outside and making it more downtown based,” Conmy said. “This is the first time we’ve done this.”
