Premier Mark McGowan is now a proud owner of the Bunbury Writers Group’s latest book, Pandemic Prose.

Bunbury Writers Group chair Mark Townsend said the book was inspired by the premier’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Pandemic Prose was the brainchild of Bunbury Writers Group author Lee Harsen,” Mr Townsend said.

“She was so impressed with how the COVID-19 crisis had been handled by Mark McGowan and Western Australia, she suggested to the group that we write some COVID-19 related stories that looked at all angles of the pandemic.

“We put them into a book that could be presented to Mark McGowan in thanks of his leadership throughout these troubling times.”

The book has been accepted by the WA State Library as part of its COVID-19 collection.

The collection will serve as a historic reminder in years to come.

Bunbury MLA Don Punch presented the new anthology to Mr McGowan during his recent visit to Parliament.

The Bunbury Writers Group also presented Mr Punch with a copy of its anthology, Death, Despair and Other Happy Endings after the book presentation was postponed due to COVID-19.
