Whenever we think vintage, we look back to the glorious Victorian Age with its billowing gowns sweeping the floors, and over-the-top coiled updos. Well, Greta Gerwig, director of Little Women, brought back the glory as she revamped the classic movie which, along with everything else, turned out to be an iconic inspiration for gorgeous hairstyles.

Little Women is a warm and fuzzy coming-of-age novel of four sisters, woven together as tightly as their dainty braids. Other than the revolutionary plot, the candid hairstyles adorned with technicolour, delicate flowers, and loose chignons are unmissable. Let’s get transported to the Victorian Age with these hairdos, which are subtle and wearable.

Take-It-Easy Low Bun

Saoirse Ronan played Jo March, the driven and ambitious writer who dons this messy look. To get the look right, first, get some beach waves going for your hair. Then, make a loose braid of your hair and twist it into a bun, securing it with a bobby pin. Let a few strands out for a messy look.

Intertwined Top Bun

Amy March remains super polished during the whole movie with her intricate buns which are easier to make than they seem, we promise! To replicate her look, do a middle parting, and twist the front strands downwards, pinning them in the back of your head. Now make two very loose pigtails, connect them into a bun and voila, you’re done.

Flowery Mess

This look from Beth March is romantic beyond words and is fail-proof if donned as a bridesmaid. Get a thin hair curler to make natural curls and then, do a middle parting. Let loose some of those curled strands in the front for a romantic touch. Then take strands from both sides of your hair, twist them up, and pin them up with a bobby pin. Finish it off with a floral tiara or plant some fresh flowers in the front.

Move To The Side

Meg March aka Emma Watson’s side-swept bangs made her look like a total sweetheart through the movie. But don’t fret, if you don’t have side bangs, take the front strand from one side of your hair, style it into a loose wave and secure it with a bobby pin. Repeat it with the other side too. Then, take the top half of your hair, do a little backcombing, and pin it at the back of your head.
